The main entrance to the hospital can found via Salop Road (A458) and located in close proximity to ample car parking which includes disabled spaces.
 
The hospital comprises of:

Maldwyn Ward
 
The ward comprises of 21 beds which support medical and rehabilitation patients. It is supported by both General Practitioners from Welshpool and Llanfair Caereinon practices. If the need arises patients may also be seen as a day case. The ward is also well supported by a multidisciplinary team which incorporates Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Speech and Language Therapy, Parkinson’s Specialist Nurse, Respiratory Nurse Speciality, Tissue Viability, Incontinence Nurse Specialist, Mental Health Team and Social Workers.
 
Visiting times are between 14:00 until 17.00s and 18.00 until 20.00.
 
Visitors are encouraged to adhere to these times to reflect protected meal times for the patients. However in extenuating circumstances this can be flexible with prior arrangement with the Senior Sister.
 
Minor Injuries Department
There is a nurse led Minor Injuries Unit based on site that is open 24 hours, seven days a week. It is supported by both General Practitioners from Welshpool and Llanfair Caereinon practices but are not based on site at all times.  The nearest Accident and Emergency Department is based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
 
Outpatients
The Outpatients department supports outreach clinics from Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital and Wrexham Maelor Hospital; these include Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Ear Nose and Throat, Audiology, Respiratory, Paediatrics.
 
Other external clinics include Dermatology, British Pregnancy Advisory Service, Abdominal Aortic Assessment screening, Diabetic Retinopathy Service.
 
This department also supports Specialist Nurse clinics which include Respiratory, Adult and Paediatric Dietetics, Parkinson’s, Continence. A Community Paediatrician undertakes a monthly clinic which is supported by specialist services.
 
A Visual Fields service is in the process of being developed.
 
Birth Centre
The Midwife led Birth Centre is open seven days a week and comprises of three beds. Visiting times are open.
 
X-Ray Department
The x-ray department is supported by Wrexham Maelor Hospital. They undertake imaging requests from Maldwyn Ward and the Minor Injuries Unit and General Practitioner requests from the locality.
 
Opening times are from Monday to Friday 08.30 - 18.00.
