The Old Bell Museum


Situated in Arthur Street near to the Town Hall, the Old Bell is an independent museum and was officially awarded "Accreditation" status by the Museums Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) in February 2009, re-accredited in 2013 and again recently in 2016.


Group visits to the museum are most welcome. These can also be arranged outside the normal opening times by prior arrangement.  Access to the museum is also available to individuals outside of normal opening times by prior arrangement.

Montgomery Civic Society members conduct guided tours of the town and museum by prior arrangement.  Charge: £1.50 per person.  Contact telephone numbers as above.

1st April (or Easter) to 30th September

1.30pm - 5.00 pm Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday

(every day in August)

10:30am - 5.00pm Saturdays &  Bank Holidays

Entrance fees:    Adults  £2.00    Children (under 16yrs)  50p

Montgomery Civic Society members and Montgomery School children have free entry


A gallery with kitchen facilities is available for hire for exhibitions, workshops, lectures and meetings.   Space is 170 sq.  ft.   Seats up to 25 for meetings.
