Walkers Are Welcome

Listing:

Supported by the Town Council, Montgomery achieved Walkers are Welcome town status in 2016.  The group was established with the aims of:

  • improving access to our Rights of Way network
  • encouraging more people, visitors and residents alike, to enjoy walking in the beautiful Welsh Borders area
  • increase walking tourism to benefit our local businesses and economy

WaW have published a number of local circular walks; established an annual October Walking Festival (www.MontgomeryWalkingFestival.co.uk) and associated social events and can offer guided walks to groups and visitors.

WaW Montgomery is part of the Vale of Montgomery Footpath Volunteer Group helping keep open our superb network of paths and are active members of Croeso i Gerddwyr Cymru.

You will find the WaW logo displayed by many businesses around town, most of whom stock walk leaflets and genuinely make walkers welcome.
