Barry Edwards is a professional musician and tutor working in the fields of improvisation and composition.

Having studied under the guidance of some of today’s finest National and International performers, he completed his 4 year degree course in Jazz Guitar & Composition at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2006 with a BA(Hons)Music qualification.

He successively moved to North West Spain where he actively pursued his ambitions as a composer, educator and performer.

"I am a strong believer that a good music education approaches the foundations of making music and not only the instrument itself. That being Rhythm, melody, harmony and timbre. Having a good grasp of all of these you can not only feel confident on your instrument but have transferable skills to learn new instruments as well as having a more enjoyable listening experience.

We all learn and experience new things in different if not unique ways. That's why it's important for the role of the tutor to be mindful of each individual's pace and understanding and help create a balanced approach to a successful musical education. Of course, it goes without saying that the journey should be one that's fun all the way!"
