Listing:

The Dragon hotel was originally built as a Coaching Inn around 1630. For centuries, horses and coaches would be driven right through the centre of the hotel. The covered coachway now forms the entrance area.

The nearby castle was destroyed by Oliver Cromwell’s men in 1648 during the English Civil War. It is believed that some of the materials used for the completion of the hotel came from the castle ruins, including a number of the exposed beams seen throughout the hotel.

As a result of the hotel’s age, it is a little quirky but full of character.

The hotel is located in the heart of the attractive little town of Montgomery and is owned by a group of local families. It has built an excellent reputation for the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, all of whom live in and around Montgomery.

Our approach to our customers and guests is: classic and professional, but informal.
